The Trio No. 4 for Violin, Violoncello and Piano by Lera Auerbach was commissioned by the Tibor Varga International Violin Competition in Sion, Switzerland (Concours International de Violon Tibor Varga), where Lera Auerbach will serve on the jury in the category of chamber music in 2017. The competition will be held from 22 to 29 August 2017.
The world premiere of her 4th Piano Trio will be given by participants in the semi-finals (3rd round) at this year’s competition on 27 August 2017.
Tibor Varga (1921-2003) was a violinist, violin pedagogue and conductor of Hungarian birth. Varga founded and organised the first competition in 1967.
