Norwegian premiere of Lera Auerbach’s “Arctica” in Oslo

The work “Arctica” for orchestra, choir, and piano by Lera Auerbach, which premiered in Washington on March 30, 2019, was performed under the patronage of the National Geographic Society in the North Pole countries USA, Russia, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Canada, Iceland and Denmark (Grönland). On February 27, 2020, the Norwegian premiere is coming now in Oslo. Joshua Weilerstein conducts the Oslo Philharmonic Choir and the Oslo Philharmonic, Roland Pöntinen plays the piano solo part.
The Russian-American composer, pianist, writer, and visual artist Lera Auerbach was inspired by the National Geographic Society, which she invited as a kind of cultural ambassador to visit the Arctic to experience the magical, majestic, and to experience the fragile beauty of this region.
